Hilot / Panlohob na Lakas

Hilot is a Filipino
word meaning “massage therapy” or “Healer”;
it is the ancient Filipino art of natural healing which
employs Massage, Chiropractic / Osteopathy manipulation,
Dietetic, and Energy Healing for the diagnosis and treatment
of physical, emotional and energetic problems.
Hilot is one
of the oldest and the most secret Art in the Philippines.
Traditionally, Hilot is either inherited, passed from one
generation to the next, or learn in secret from master to
disciple in the Healing and/or Martial Arts community.
Qi Gong is a Chinese word meaning Energy work. The Filipino
equivalence would be Panlohob na Lakas. Both systems are
very similar, using breathing, visualization, meditation,
etc. For practical reasons, Kali Majapahit Instructors sometime
use the Chinese word, which is better known.

We believe
the philosophy developed in our schools will help the student
to question himself about health, sickness, their causes
and their origins. In ancient time in Asia, it was believed
that nothing “just happen by accident”; everything
is the result of a decision, a thought, an action... even
health. Health is most of the time the result of our own consciousness
and lifestyle...
How well we take care of our vehicle.
After years
of studies and experiences in Filipino Hilot and Chinese
medicine, several traditional massage schools, and osteopathy,
Fred Evrard has developed his own massage and healing
method, synthesis of Filipino Hilot, Chinese Tui Na, Thai
massage, Physiotherapy and Osteopathy, body alignment, and
dietetic.
Hilot is a complete natural therapy, based principally
on prevention. It has several disciplines, all being complementary
or independent, depending on the needs:
- Body coordination and Sinawali exercises
- Massage
- Energy work (Panlohob na Lakas, acupressure, Breathing, visualisation, Qi Gong)
- Dietetic and detoxification
- Body alignment and Osteopathy
